You're uploading financial documents, so you deserve straight answers — not vague promises. Here is exactly how BankSheet.ai handles your files and data.
Encrypted in transit
Everything you upload travels over an encrypted HTTPS (TLS) connection between your browser and our servers. Your statement is never sent over an unencrypted connection.
What happens when you upload a statement
Your PDF or image is uploaded to secure cloud storage and read by an automated AI extraction service, which pulls out the transactions (dates, descriptions, amounts, balances) and basic account details needed to build your spreadsheet. That extracted data is shown to you for review, and your Excel/CSV download is generated from it.
The extraction is used for one purpose: producing your spreadsheet. We don't analyze your finances, profile you, or use your statements for advertising.
No human reads your statement
The conversion pipeline is fully automated. No person at BankSheet.ai opens or reviews your statement as part of the conversion process.
What we keep, and your control over it
Guest conversions (no account): your conversion results are displayed in your browser and are not saved to any account or dashboard. To enforce the daily free limit we keep a simple usage counter, keyed to a random browser identifier or — when that isn't available — your IP address. The counter stores how many conversions were run that day, never your transactions.
Signed-in users: your conversion results are saved to your account so you can re-download them later. You can permanently delete any saved conversion from your dashboard at any time.
Uploaded files: files are stored on our secure processing infrastructure to run the conversion. Want a file or any data associated with it removed? Email us at robbie@banksheet.ai and we'll handle the deletion request.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share your statements or transactions with third parties for marketing.
Payments are handled by Stripe
If you upgrade to a paid plan, checkout happens on Stripe's hosted payment page. Your card number never touches BankSheet.ai's servers — we only receive confirmation from Stripe that a payment succeeded.
Honesty over badges
We're a small, focused product. We don't claim SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA certifications, because we haven't been through those audits — and we'd rather tell you the truth than put a badge on a page. What you read above is exactly what the product does.
